Infant Asthma

Infant asthma or childhood asthma has become widespread in current times. Childhood asthma is traumatic and also makes the child weak, making them limit there activity. The causes for adult and childhood or infant asthma are the same. The causes for asthma remain the same - inflammation in the bronchial passages leading to constricted breathing. The passages become very sensitive to different allergens and spasms of cough take place leading to labored breathing.

However, infant asthma gets cured with medicine and with age sometimes. Children with asthma are known to lead normal lives as they grow up. Knowing about the symptoms of asthma helps parents realize the problem earlier and start medication to prevent and cure the illness. The basic symptoms are coughing, wheezing, breathlessness, chest congestion and constriction of chest in children. Other symptomatic signs may be a rattle cough or reoccurring bronchitis with pneumonia, persistent cough. However, not all symptoms may be needed for medical attention. Even one or some symptoms are enough for you to show him to a good doctor.

In children with asthma, the air passages are constantly inflamed which leads to frequent attacks after being triggered by smoke, dust, exercise, weather changes, pollutants , fuels etc. and other allergens as they are active all the time, they are more prone. Doctor will be able to make the right diagnosis based on the symptoms of the child as some symptoms may relate to non asthma diseases also. As with adults children also develop asthma due to stress. They are not able to understand changes in the form of family structure or maybe school and sub conscious stress comes out in the form of asthma. Genetic factors also contribute to this illness also. Mother‘s gene are the contributing factor in childhood asthma.

However, the effects of childhood asthma wear of in majority of the cases with age and medication.

Always seek the advice of a professional for questions related to your disease, disease symptoms and treatments.
